LinkedIn Learning Help: What You Need To Know

If you’ve ever looked up the best online programs that teach skills in software or business, there’s a very high chance you’ve come across LinkedIn Learning at some point or another.

It is an online educational program that knows about the importance of professional skill building and how important each aspect of it is at work and in nearly every profession, and with the software providing hundreds of courses and constant updates, you won’t want to miss out on it.

Let’s take a look at the details of how to make an account with LinkedIn Learning help, and more importantly, what you will get after signing up and choosing a membership.

Can You Share An Account With LinkedIn?

While LinkedIn Learning has only really grown in popularity in the last few years, LinkedIn has had an active and passionate community for a while, with many people learning about LinkedIn Learning through the original platform.

Rather than an actual online teaching program, LinkedIn is a business and employment social media platform, allowing people to freely speak about work and business ideas, making it very different from the Learning software.

With that being said, the many LinkedIn users who have shared accounts with LinkedIn Learning have received a few benefits that make the whole experience much more engaging and interesting, which is why it is well worth setting up a shared account.

You will have the option to connect accounts when you are in the activation stage of setting up your Learning account for the first time where you will be given the option to connect to an existing LinkedIn account.

By doing so, it allows LinkedIn Learning to become a more personalized experience where the platform will tailor courses to you that are closely related to your job, skills, and interests on your original LinkedIn account.

How To Activate A LinkedIn Learning Account?

If you’re logging into a LinkedIn Learning account provided by an organization, school, or business, you will need to know the details of your personal account that you would normally use to log into services that are provided for you at work.

You will first want to head to https://www.linkedin.com/learning where you will have the option to sign in at the top right.

When you click “Sign In”, type in your organization details and log in with your own personal details that you would normally use to connect to the shared network.

Once this is processed, you will have activated your Learning account and will have access to all of the courses and extra community tabs it has to offer users.

How To Connect A LinkedIn Account?

While signing up for LinkedIn Learning, you will be given the option to automatically join and connect that new account to your LinkedIn account, which you can easily do by verifying your username and password.

You will be shown a preview of your account so that you can check if it’s the right one.

When you confirm, the program will immediately start processing what courses would be tailored for you so your recommendations will be improved.

The course recommendations on LinkedIn Learning can be seen on your front page, and while they will appear for individual Learning accounts, the system is much more efficient and accurate when connected to an original LinkedIn account.

What Can You Use On LinkedIn Learning?

Upon activating your LinkedIn Learning account, you will be granted access to a wide catalog of course videos you can watch which are all presented by experts in the fields of tech, business, and creativity.

While it does primarily center on these three areas, there is still plenty of content to enjoy, all suitably grouped into smaller topics and groups of videos so you get a fantastic amount of insight into each and every detail of so many different career paths.

Another big reason a lot of people will prefer to use LinkedIn Learning as their educational platform of choice is that a lot of the course episodes are bite-size, usually being no longer than 15 minutes long, while still being full of content and key information.

It should also be noted that the amount of customization a user gets with the course videos really is amazing, giving you options to playback.

Save and highlight certain segments, and quickly zip to the files or quiz tabs immediately with just a simple click.

The “My Courses” tab is a neat and tidy menu that sorts together all the courses that are currently in progress and any courses that you have saved.

Then you have the tests and quizzes, which are a great way to practice what you learned in a way that is just difficult enough to make it very challenging for most courses.

There are many courses that you can achieve professional certificates for after completing them using LinkedIn Learning.

This is a big reason many people will choose to use it when they are serious about expanding and progressing their career since it does improve your options tremendously.

How Much Is LinkedIn Learning?

If you’re looking to pay individually for a LinkedIn Learning account, you will have two options on how to pay for your subscription, either monthly or annually.

LinkedIn Learning costs $39.99 a month with the monthly plan, however, each month will cost $24.99 when paying for the annual membership.

Which is what many people will choose who intend to get as much use out of the extraordinary amount of courses as possible. You do also get the option to try the program before you pay for it with a 30-day free trial.

Which Account Membership Should You Choose?

The deciding factor that should lead you one way or another when it comes to the two membership options is how many of the courses you think you would benefit from, and how big and ambitious your learning schedule is.

If you really want to expand and improve your overall confidence and determination for the future going forward.

The annual membership grants you enough time to get through as many of the amazing courses as you want so you can learn at your own pace.

On the other hand, if you only really want to dive into a more niche topic, or are looking to expand your skills in one area specifically such as communication, coding.

Or any type of individual or team strategic planning, a monthly subscription could be better since it gives you control over how long you need to finish all the courses you want to get through.

Can You Buy Individual Courses?

If there’s just one course that you’re interested in, then you do have the option to buy an individual course on its own for between $30 to $40.

The price will depend on how many videos are included and how detailed the content is.

Once you purchase an individual course, you will be able to access the course any time you want for an unlimited period.

If you’re really unsure about the quality of LinkedIn Learning, this is a good way to test out a featured course for yourself. .

How Do You Cancel A LinkedIn Learning Account Membership?

If you’re paying monthly and decide that you don’t need any more time to learn from the courses on offer, or if your annual subscription is coming to an end and you don’t want to renew, the good news is that canceling your existing membership subscription is very easy.

Here is how you can do it in a few simple steps:

  1. When you arrive at the LinkedIn Learning front page, click on the “Me” icon at the top right of the screen to bring up a drop-down menu.
  2. Choose the settings and you will be directed to a small menu. Click on the “Manage” selection, and then click “Manage Subscription”
  3. On the right side of the page you will see the “Cancel Subscription” option. You will then be given a final option to cancel the subscription for good.

Keep in mind that LinkedIn Learning does not offer refunds as of this time, so if you’re not satisfied with your purchase, make sure to cancel in advance to save your money.

How To Delete A LinkedIn Learning Account

If you want to delete an account to permanently delete the user and all of their associated data, simply log in to the account you wish to remove and go to “Admin”.

Select your photo in the top right corner of the screen and click on “Authenticate” from the drop-down menu.

On the side will be the “Automate User Management” option, click on this and scroll down to “User Deletion” where you will be able to permanently delete the account.

Troubleshooting Logging Into LinkedIn Learning Account

If you’re having trouble logging into your account, there are a few methods you can try to fix this so that you can continue enjoying your courses.

It’s always important to first make sure that your password is being typed in correctly before anything since it can be very easy to accidentally have the caps lock on or to get one character wrong.

If you are thinking it might be a problem with the password, you always have the option of resetting it through email.

It can also be worth checking that cookies are enabled in your web browser since turning them off can block your access to the site and its recommendation system for the courses.

Check any security or privacy software that you have installed which could potentially be restricting your access.

If you still have no success, you might want to contact the team at LinkedIn Learning where you will be able to open a support ticket and explain your problem.

Are LinkedIn Learning Certificates Worth it?

Many courses on LinkedIn Learning will provide you with certificates upon completion of their tests and assessments.

These are professional certificates that are highly valued since they demonstrate your interest and commitment to personal development.

Earning these certificates is a great way to help you stand out and demonstrate your competence to employers, making them tangible proof of the skills that you have learned and adapted from the courses themselves.

When an employer notices a certificate on your resume related to a specific topic or subject, they will often ask the potential employee questions and start a discussion about what they have learned.

So if you’re entering an extremely competitive profession and want to be a step ahead, the LinkedIn Learning certificates are one of the best ways to do it.
