How To Share Google Analytics Certification On LinkedIn

Google Analytics is a powerful tool used to track web traffic, monitor user behavior, and measure the effectiveness of online marketing campaigns.

If you have recently achieved your Google Analytics certification, adding it to your LinkedIn profile can help showcase your expertise in data analytics and make you stand out in a crowded job market.

It can also increase your visibility to potential employers and clients who are looking for professionals with these skills.

In today’s article, we will guide you through nine easy steps on how to add your Google Analytics Certification to LinkedIn.

You don’t need any technical expertise to follow these steps, and it shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes to complete.

In July 2023, Google transitioned its web analytics platform from Universal Analytics (UA) to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). UA properties stopped processing new data on July 1, 2023, while 360 UA properties will continue until July 1, 2024.

Google Analytics Explained

Google Analytics, a free web analytics service launched by Google in November 2005, is designed to provide website owners with in-depth insights into visitor behavior and website performance.

It has become an indispensable tool for marketers, webmasters, and businesses of all sizes, helping them understand how users interact with their websites, track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and make data-driven decisions to optimize their online presence.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4), the latest version of the platform, was introduced in October 2020 and represents a significant shift in how data is collected and analyzed.

Using this system is one of the best ways to review and analyze your website’s data regarding the viewers to your site, such as the amount of time they spend on a page, their activities when visiting your site, and/or the time they spend browsing.

It will also show you what pages they decided to close so you can work on certain aspects to improve the quality of your site and keep visitors coming back and browsing for longer.

Perhaps the most important feature associated with Google Analytics is that it can identify a period to pinpoint the data you have in order to better analyze it, as well as other tasks you would like to accomplish as a data analyst.

To earn a Google Analytics certification, however, you must pass the Google Analytics qualification known as the GAIQ Exam.

This exam tests your expertise as a data analyst and includes concerts from basic to advanced levels, such as configuration and administration, planning, attribution and conversion, and much more.

You’ll be pleased to know that the Google Analytics GAIQ exam is completely free to complete and is valid for 12 months from the date you pass it.

The exam is timed at 90 minutes and has a total of 70 questions to complete.

And, to ensure the questions are fair and test your overall analytics knowledge, each question is randomly drawn from a large library. All questions are either multiple-choice or in a true or false format.

Once you start the exam, the timer begins.

This means it is a one-seat exam, so you must complete it in one sitting. You also cannot revisit questions once you have answered them or those that you have left unanswered, so you should answer everyone.

Scoring 80% or more is considered a pass. If you fail, you will have to wait seven days to retake the exam.

Is There A GA4 Certification And How To Get It

Yes, there is! While there isn’t currently a standalone GA4 certification, Google offers comprehensive training on GA4 through its Skillshop platform. This includes a learning path specifically designed to help you get started with GA4 and understand its key features and differences from Universal Analytics.

The GA4 learning path covers topics like setting up a GA4 property, using the new Explore reports, understanding the event-based data model, and measuring user engagement. Completing this learning path is highly recommended for anyone transitioning to GA4 or wanting to enhance their GA4 skills.

While there isn’t a formal exam or certification for GA4 yet, Google periodically updates its Skillshop courses, so keep an eye out for potential future certifications. In the meantime, demonstrating your GA4 proficiency through the completion of the learning path can be a valuable asset in showcasing your expertise to potential employers or clients.

To get started, simply visit the Google Skillshop website and search for the “Get Started with Google Analytics 4” learning path.

Is Old Certification Obsolete?

No, the Universal Analytics (UA) certification is not entirely obsolete. While GA4 is the future of Google Analytics, many businesses still use UA or are in the process of transitioning. Understanding UA is still valuable, especially for analyzing historical data. However, gaining GA4 proficiency is crucial for staying current and competitive in the field.

In Summary

A Google Analytics certificate, particularly with a focus on the newer GA4 platform, can open up numerous career opportunities for individuals interested in data analytics, digital marketing, and business intelligence. As businesses continue to transition to GA4, demonstrating proficiency in this platform can be a significant advantage in the job market.
