How often do you get stuck on assignments or homework? If you’re anything like us, I’m sure you’ve experienced this problem before. The good thing is, Blackboard has a solution for this issue.
Blackboard is a learning management system that allows students to submit assignments through their mobile devices. This means they don’t have to wait until class time to hand in their assignments.
However, submitting assignments isn’t always straightforward. Sometimes you might encounter problems such as missing files or formatting errors. When this happens, you’ll want to contact your instructor immediately.
But How To Resubmit An Assignment On Blackboard. Let’s find out.
How Do You Resubmit An Assignment?
Your instructor may allow you to resubmit an assignment more than once. Some instructors give students the opportunity to correct errors, while others require assignments to be perfect the first time around.
In either case, it’s important to understand what happens when you resubmit an assignment. You can read this page to learn more.
For most courses, submitting an assignment more than once doesn’t change the grade, even if you resubmit it later.
However, some instructors do reserve the right to refuse to accept additional submissions. This could happen if the assignment submission deadline has passed, or if there are already too many assignments due.
If you’re allowed to resubmit an online assignment, you’ll see a “Submit Assignment” button near the bottom of the screen. Clicking this button opens a form where you can enter information about the assignment.
After you complete the form, you’ll receive an email confirmation.
You can use this same process to edit an assignment. Just remember that you won’t be able to submit the edited version again.
Editing The Resubmission
Assignments are meant to give students feedback about what they did well and where they could improve. But sometimes, mistakes happen.
Students often find themselves unable to fix a problem because they don’t know how to access the submission history of an assignment.
In most cases, instructors allow students to make changes to an assignment after submitting it. This includes correcting typos, adding additional information, changing formatting, etc.
Instructors usually require students to resubmit an assignment if they decide to change the subject or add new material.
However, some instructors allow students to resubmit assignments multiple times. In those cases, students must check whether they can resubmit an assignment more than once before they attempt to do so.
Some instructors even let students resubmit an assignment without penalty.
If you’re unsure whether you can resubmit an assigned task, contact your instructor. He or she can help you determine whether you’re able to make changes to an existing assignment.
Where Can You Find Your Assignments?
Your instructor can add assignments to the courses you take. These are called “assignments,” and they’re part of the course management system. Assignments appear in the Course Menu, under the section labeled “Assignments.”
Here, you’ll see a list of all the assignments you’ve been given, along with due dates and availability. If you don’t see the assignment listed here, it hasn’t been added to the course.
To add an assignment, go to the Assignment List tab, select Add New Assignment, enter information for the assignment, and save it.
If you want to submit an assignment, log in and navigate to the Assignment List tab. Select Submit Assignment, type in the name of the assignment, and choose whether you’d like to make it visible to others or just to yourself.
You can also access groups of assignments from the My Groups tab after the course menu. This is where instructors usually post announcements about upcoming events or give students access to group assignments.
What Do You Do if You Can’t Find Your Assignment Or Open Them?
Your instructor controls the date when work becomes available. This includes homework, quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, etc.
If you are having trouble finding your work, contact your instructor immediately. He or she will likely know what happened and how to fix it.
If you do not see your work listed under the course syllabus, check your email account. Some instructors send out notices about assignments via email. In addition, some instructors post announcements on their class Facebook group or Twitter feed.
For some reason, you are unable to open your assignments. This issue could mean that there is something wrong with your computer, or it might even be related to your Internet connection.
In either case, we recommend contacting your instructor or the helpdesk at your school. They can assist you further.
If you are unsure about how to contact the helpdesk, look for the technology department on your institution’s website or ask someone at your school what to do.
Also, make sure you use an up-to-date browser and operating system for your version of Blackboard.

Submitting Your Assignments
On the Upload Assignment page, select the Submit button to begin uploading your assignment. You must complete each step in order to submit your work.
If you do not have access to the course materials, please contact your instructor directly.
The instructor will provide additional information regarding how to properly submit your assignment.
When you complete your assignment, you must choose Submit. If you do not, your instructor will not receive it. You will not be able to resubmit the same assignment more than twice.
If your instructor does not allow multiple attempts, you may upload your assignment only once.
Before you choose to Submit, make sure that you have uploaded all required files. Review the submission requirements, due date, and points awarded, and download any files that are provided by your instructor.
Once you have reviewed the information, open the assignment. Click on the Upload Assignment button. Select Submit.
Can You Save An Assignment And Submit It Later?
The Upload Assignment page gives you several options for saving your work and continuing it later. To do this, follow these steps:
- Select Save Draft.
- Type a name for the draft and press Enter.
- Choose where to store the file(s).
- Make your changes.
- Click Submit.
- On the Review Submission History screen, select Continue.
How Do You Check If Your Assignment Was Submitted?
You can check to see whether your assignment was submitted successfully. When you submit an assignment, it goes into a queue, where the person grading it checks it every 15 minutes.
If the assignment hasn’t been graded within a certain amount of time, it gets automatically deleted. To check whether your assignment was submitted, look under “Your Assignments.”
On the Course Content page, choose the assignment link. A panel opens showing the date and time you submitted the assignment.
In the bottom left corner, there’s a button labeled “Not Graded,” which appears grayed out unless your instructor has already marked your assignment as complete.
When your instructor posts grades, you’ll find those in your activity stream. You can also view your grade history.
What Do You Do If Your Instructor Did Not Receive Your Resubmission?
If you are having trouble getting your professor to accept your work, it might be because he or she hasn’t received it. If you submitted your paper via email, make sure that you sent it to the correct person.
Your professor might have been assigned another student’s work. Or maybe you accidentally sent your paper to the wrong department.
Whatever the case, there is no harm in contacting your professor to let him or her know that you haven’t heard anything about your assignment.
Is There Any Way To Know That Your Assignment Has Been Graded?
Assignments are graded manually by instructors, and you won’t receive any notification about assignments until they’ve been reviewed and assigned.
Once an assignment has been completed, it’ll show up in your Assignment Listing. You can also check the status of an assignment by selecting its title.
If you’d like to see more information about an assignment, such as how many times it’s been viewed or how long it took to complete it, you can review the submission history.
This is where you’ll find out whether the assignment has been graded and what the final grade is.
If your assignment is set to automatically be graded anonymously, it will show up under the “Grading Options” section on the Assignment Details page.
This option lets instructors give feedback without revealing your identity. Instructors can also use this option to assign work anonymously.
When submitting assignments, don’t include your name anywhere in the file names or descriptions. In addition, don’t put your name in any comments or notes included with the assignment.
If you do include identifying information, your instructor may choose to grade your assignment anonymously.
Final Thoughts
Blackboard offers a variety of ways to communicate with your instructor, including email, phone calls, and instant messaging.
However, if you don’t hear back from your instructor after sending an email, calling, or chatting, you should contact them directly. They may not realize that you’re trying to reach them.
