Coursera Tableau Courses

Tableau is an American software company that offers businesses a new way to collect, manage, and evaluate data. Through various tools, businesses can use Tableau to become more data-driven.

The data analytics platform transforms the way we use sample data to find and solve problems.

It is a great interactive display online tool for businesses to use if they want to grow their real-world business cases and gain insights quickly.

However, using Tableau takes some practice. If we don’t know how to use the software, we can’t possibly expect to make the most of the tools and services on offer.

Learning how to use Tableau might seem like hard work, but you don’t need to panic because Coursera can help.

There’s a wide range of Tableau courses on Coursera that aim to develop your Tableau skills. If you need to learn how to use Tableau, these courses can be valuable. In today’s post, we’ve listed the best Coursera Tableau courses you can enroll in. (Check out ‘Coursera Coupon Code And Special Discounts 2023‘)

We’ll now show you each one!

1. Get Started With Tableau

If you’ve never used Tableau before, the Get Started With Tableau course from Coursera is a great place to start. This project-based Coursera course shows learners the Tableau basics, getting them started with the platform in just two hours.

Learners will be taught what Tableau is, how it can be used, how to upload data, how to evaluate data, and so on. You’ll even be shown how to download and set Tableau up.

Once students understand the basics, the course moves on to some more advanced Tableau features, showing students the difference between dimensions and measures, and concrete and discrete variables.

Towards the end of the course, you’ll then be given the chance to put your new skills to the test by building line graphs, bar graphs, and tables.

By the end, you should be able to confidently use Tableau to improve the data analysis capabilities of your company.

2. Data Visualization With Tableau Specialization

A great way to learn everything you need to know about a topic using Coursera is to enroll in a specialization course. Coursera’s specialization courses are courses that are made up of multiple smaller courses.

This is a great way to quickly learn everything you need to know about a topic in one place.

In relation to Tableau, Coursera has Data Visualization With Tableau Specialization to offer.

Made up of five different courses, this specialization aims to introduce students to Tableau visualization before going into more detail about the different tools and services the platform has to offer.

Some of the courses included in this specialization are Fundamentals of Visualization with Tableau, Essential Design Principles for Tableau, and Data Visualization with Tableau Project.

Throughout this course, you’ll develop your knowledge in regard to what Tableau is, what it offers, how you can use it to assess data, how data can be presented, and how to create visualizations.

Perfect for beginners, this course will take approximately 6 months for you to complete.

3. Fundamentals Of Visualization With Tableau

Next up, we have the Fundamentals of Visualization With Tableau course. You’ll notice that this course is part of the specialization course above.

We’ve included this course on its own too because we believe it is one of the best courses you can take if you want to learn about Tableau visualizations quickly.

Designed for beginners, this course shows you everything you need to know about Tableau data visualizations. The course starts by showing you how to install Tableau Public Software before helping you create a visualization.

You’ll then be taught how to examine and navigate the workspace before your skills are put to the test.

You will be given the chance to practice and be shown how to connect different data sources. You’ll also learn how to define your project.

If you decide to take part in this course, you’ll develop key Tableau software skills, data visualization skills, and computer graphic skills.

This quick-fire course only takes 11 hours to complete.

4. Creating Dashboards And Storytelling With Tableau

The next course on this list is offered by the University of California Davis UC and is led by Govind Acharya and Hunter Whitney, both of whom have a wealth of experience in this industry.

This course is better suited to those of you that have some knowledge of Tableau already. The reason for this is that it focuses more on how to present your data rather than how to start using Tableau.

In the course, you’ll be taught how to create stunning visual analytics with Tableau. This includes creating high-quality dashboards so you can tell a story with your data.

This course will be very beneficial to you if you have to present business data to a board or manager.

Aside from being shown how to use the basic visualization tools, you’ll also be shown how to use more advanced features such as actions, hierarchies, and parameters.

The course finishes with a final project that asks you to create a compelling presentation that can be delivered during a meeting.

5. Create Social Media Dashboards In Tableau

Another course that teaches you how to present the data you or leading media companies collected and evaluated using Tableau is the Create Social Media Dashboards in Tableau course. However, this course takes a different approach.

Instead of focusing on data presentation as a whole, this course focuses solely on the presentation of social media data.

In a world where social media presence is key to so many businesses, this can be very beneficial. If you have a business that relies heavily on social media, this course is perfect for you.

The course shows you how to create stunning data visualizations for social media data. Students are shown how to create word charts, tables, bubble charts, data models, and finally a visualization dashboard.

Unlike the course above, this course also offers some great lessons for beginners as it shows students how to set up Tableau, how to collect data, and how to upload it to Tableau too.

The next course on our list is the Use Tableau for your Data Science Workflow course. This course is delivered by the UCI Division of Continuing Education and led by Julie Pai and Majed Al-Ghandour.

The main aim of this course is to explain the key fundamental concepts behind visualizations. You’ll learn how to set up and perform data analysis using Tableau, and how to present findings by creating dashboards and storytelling.

Another great thing this course teaches you is how to use Tableau to define business goals, select and prepare data, and present the results.

As you can see from the name of this course, it is another specialization course. This time, the course is made up of three separate courses. Those courses are Data Visualization Best Practices, Data Storytelling, and Dashboarding and Deployment.

These three courses aren’t very long but they are packed with useful information. The whole specialization should only take you 3 months to complete.

In terms of who the course is designed for, anyone that works in sales or marketing will benefit from the course. You’ll be able to use the forecasts you create to make financial decisions and projections.

There aren’t any prerequisites to joining the course, but some prior knowledge of statistics and digital marketing is useful. So could your company benefit from training employees?
