You can also interact with your audience and identify the best way to interact with them. Interacting with your customers has never been easier, and you can easily solve any issues or create discount codes with marketing tools.

There’s a reason Gumroad is one of the best sites for online marketing.

What Is The Sales Analytics Dashboard?

The Sales Analytics Dashboard is where you learn about where your customers came from and where you can reach out to them.

Sellers can look at the Sales Analytics Dashboard to look at the data that matters to them in an easy-to-understand manner. But first, you need to understand a few terms that are important.

Terms You Should Know

You need to know two key terms when you need to understand the data from the Sales Analytics Dashboard.

These terms are conversion rate and direct sales. This section will help you understand what we mean when these terms are used.

Conversion Rate

When your customers buy your digital and physical products, they have converted from being prospective buyers into actual paying customers.

When we talk about conversion rate, we’re talking about the number of people who have looked at your product and the number who have bought it.

For example, say that ten people have viewed your product. If half of them have bought it, your conversion rate would be 50%.

Direct Sales

You’ll find direct sales will appear on your analytics page as direct, emails, and IM, but this isn’t the whole story. When we talk about direct sales, we mean whether they buy your product through:

  • Apps and mobile devices
  • Email
  • Twitter clients
  • Instant messenger services, such as Skype, Gchat, and many more.

Understanding The Data

Now that you understand the key terms, you need to know how to look at and understand your data. You’ll find all of your physical and digital products available in the Sales Analytics Dashboard.

If you want to do a deep dive into specific products, you can select them from your drop-down menu at the top of your page or toggle your selected items.

Adjusting Your Time Frame

You can select the range of data you want to check over an extended period by checking the date picker in the top right corner of the page.

Analytics will, by default, show your data from the past month. You can also toggle between whether you want to check your daily or monthly views and see how well your products have been performing for a specific time frame.

Understanding Your Sales Graph

You can select the data from that period using your sales chart in a combined graph. Each bar you see will show you the number of views for each day.

The line graph above them will be overlaid on top so you can see how well your sales volume is when compared to the number of views.

If you hover over each day, you can see even more information about the sales, views, and the value of your views in dollars.

Referrals

If you want to see how many referrals you received for your product, you can check it out here. You can see how many people viewed your product via links through different sites.

For example, if someone followed a link to your page through Twitter, you can see how many people clicked that link to get to your product.

Likewise, if someone searches for your product via Google, then the referrer would be viewed as Google.

You can see all the referrals to your site for your selected product through your referrers list. On this list, you will be able to see where the referrals are coming from.

You can also see the number of views through this method, the number of purchases, the conversion rate, and the number of sales in dollars.

You can use the referrals to understand where you can focus your marketing efforts and give a great idea of where you’re succeeding with referrals.

Locations

You can filter your location to get a better idea of where your products are mostly being viewed or purchased. You can find out your customer’s locations based on the IP address of each customer.

Through this, you can see how many people are viewing a product, buying your product, and the number of dollars from each country.

You can arrange the data by which you want to analyze it most. If you don’t want to look at the global data, you can also filter it by the United States. If you filter by the U.S., you can see the number of sales for specific states.

Exporting Your Customer Sales CSV

If you want to download a CSV file of your customers and a selected date range of their purchases, you can do so from the Audience tab. On the CSV, you can find your products’ sales within that date range, or you can download the information of a single product.

If you want information for all of your products on your CSV, we recommend clicking the Export icon and selecting a Date Range before clicking the download button.

To export a CSV for a single product, you can click the Filter icon to select the product you want to download your information.

We should mention an important note about your Gumroad Analytics and Customers dashboards quickly. These both use your local timezone when displaying and filtering orders.

However, when you look at your CSV, it uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

When looking at your CSV, we recommend you add a buffer of one day to the start and end of your date range before you export the file, so you can ensure that you can capture all of the orders in that time frame and not miss anything.

Final Thoughts

If you want to expand your business, you can easily do so with Gumroad and its advanced features. Even if you want to make some extra cash, anyone can use Gumroad to sell online. You can sell digital downloads, sell software, sell online courses, sell subscriptions, and more.

We hope that this beginner’s guide to the Sales Analytics Dashboard will help you make the most of this online marketplace and increase your or your business’s productivity.
