How Do The Free Courses Work On Pluralsight?

Pluralsight is a technology workforce that allows everyone to have an opportunity to progress through the power of technology and develop skills for a new age through mobile apps.

Using assessments, learning paths, and individual courses that experts in the industry have authored to teach both businesses and individuals.

Using these skills, they hope to help everyone build reliable and secure products for the future.

Many industries use the Pluralsight website for teaching and training team members, but whether you’re an individual or a business, you may want to know what free options are available.

After all, everyone wants to get new skills, but not everyone has the time or money to invest. To help you, we’ve compiled a guide on how do the free courses work on Pluralsight and how you can access them.

What Kind Of Courses Are On Pluralsight?

There are several courses on different subjects on Pluralsight, but what ones should you take?

You’ll find a variety of subjects that include web development, architecture and construction, and professional subjects for creatives, businesses, and anyone who specializes in data.

You’ll notice a range of IT subjects, such as ops, information and cyber security, software and web development, and lastly, manufacturing and design.

Naturally, these subjects are essential for anyone who wants to develop their skills regardless of industry.

Are There Free Courses On Pluralsight?

Pluralsight account offers free courses for free users, but you won’t get the same level of courses as on the premium or standard plans.

Both businesses and individuals are welcome to begin free access to trending technologies on Pluralsight, so you shouldn’t have any issues signing up.

Yet, if you can’t afford it, we suggest canceling your trial within ten days, or your trial will automatically renew into a paid subscription.

Free Courses On Pluralsight

Every month, you can access five free courses on a free plan. Pluralsight will select five of the best courses in a skill area and make them accessible to everyone. They won’t cost anything to try them out, either.

Each month, these will change. However, you won’t be able to find one based on your own interests. Instead, you’ll find that you can find the best course in a specific subject that Pluralsight has gathered.

The free courses that you would normally find on Pluralsight include courses on software development, IT operations, data professional, and security professional.

You won’t be able to access all subjects and fields on Pluralsight for free, but you can access a few of them. You’ll also be able to test your skills in certain subject areas.

This is the Skills IQ section, so you can see how you measure certain skills so that you can identify your learning gaps.

Generally, the Skills IQ tests are useful so you can understand what you need assistance with.

You can identify what courses you can do certification prep for with the free plan too, with access to labs and practice exams that you can take for free.

You can also identify learning paths to follow and curate using Skills IQ. There are also guides you can access if you get stuck on any of your training.

Ideally, if you want to work on anything in software and development, then the free version of Pluralsight will work for you.

While you won’t be able to create channels, you can do certification prep and establish your skills, which is perfect for beginners. However, you should consider upgrading if you want to expand your career.

Individual Free Trials On Pluralsight

There are two different individual free trials for members to try out. The standard trial and premium trial are available for all individual members after that you have to purchase courses to sign in.

However, both of these trials offer different benefits based on what you want to accomplish.

How Do The Free Courses Work On Pluralsight?

Standard Free Trials On Pluralsight

If you want to try out the standard individual trial on Pluralsight, you’ll have access to up to 200 minutes of Skills video courses for a maximum of 10 days.

You’ll be able to create channels, earn completion certificates, take notes on courses, and even participate in Skill IQ assessments.

Premium Free Trials On Pluralsight

A premium free trial includes all the benefits that you would have with a standard free trial and more. Like the standard trial, you’ll have only 200 minutes of Skills video courses for up to 10 days.

You can also participate in interactive projects and courses. We find that you’ll also get the added benefit of being able to prepare for certifications with CyberVista practice exams too.

However, we should note that for both versions of this free trial, you won’t be able to download your courses for offline viewing. You’ll only be able to do this if you pay to subscribe.

Signing Up For A Free Trial

Pluralsight will ask for your email address, first and last name, and country of residence if you want to sign up for a free trial. Generally, it will only ask for your average account details so they can get in touch with you.

As the free trial will renew automatically, you need to include your payment information.

Thankfully, Pluralsight will take payment via credit, debit, or PayPal, and they will send you an email a day before your trial ends.

Is There A Way To Get A Pluralsight Subscription Free For Longer?

We do have a way to access free courses on Pluralsight for anyone who wants to learn more for less after starting a free trial.

For example, if you join the Microsoft Visual Studio Program or Microsoft Azure, you can get free membership to the Pluralsight library for six months.

Microsoft Visual Studio is free, so you won’t have to worry about paying more for another feature. All you need to do is sign into a Microsoft Account and sign into Visual Studio with your account.

When you access the Visual Studio Dev Essentials page, you’ll find Pluralsight among the benefits available, so you can get a code to get Pluralsight for a six-month subscription for free.

How Do Free Courses Work?

The free courses work by selecting a course from the free course library. They are all designed for beginner and intermediate students.

You can watch videos and access exercise files to expand your knowledge in these courses.

Once you complete the course, you’ll be able to see what related courses are available so that you can continue to expand your knowledge.

While you can’t get a certification using Pluralsight for free, you can still prepare for certifications and expand your knowledge.

The free courses are perfect for students who want to improve their skills. However, industry experts may not be thrilled by the introductory and intermediate courses available.

Final Thoughts

Pluralsight offers plenty of opportunities for beginner programmers to gain knowledge in the field of technology. However, the free trial isn’t perfect for any programmers with more experience.

Instead, those with experience should sign up for a standard or premium free trial to gain certifications they can use to showcase their experience.

If you’re interested in using the entire library and Microsoft Visual Studio, too, you should be able to sign up for the entire Pluralsight course library for six months. So, why not try it out?
