How To Cancel LinkedIn Learning Subscription

LinkedIn is the largest platform for professional networking out there.

It is very useful for both recruiters and job seekers alike.

LinkedIn Learning is a very useful tool that helps people to learn essential skills that help them work toward their dream career path.

It is used by many individuals all over the world.

However, there comes a time when someone may want to cancel their LinkedIn Learning subscription.

This can happen for many reasons. (See also ‘How To Cancel LinkedIn Learning Free Trial?‘)

In this article, we will discuss how to cancel LinkedIn Learning, why someone may wish to do this, and much more. So, if you’re interested, be sure to read on.

Why Would Someone Want To Cancel Their LinkedIn Learning Subscription?

There are many reasons why someone would want to cancel their LinkedIn Learning subscription, even though it is a useful tool. Let’s check out these reasons in more detail.

Reasons For Cancelation: Limited Courses

Even though LinkedIn learning is very useful for gaining skills, the work sectors these skills are useful for are very limited.

If you want to broaden your skillset for the creative, business, or technology sectors, then this is the place to go.

However, if you want to broaden your skillset for other areas, then you will find the course options on LinkedIn Learning very limiting.

If you’re not getting what you want out of your subscription, then you would be better off canceling it.

Reasons For Cancelation: The Certificates Are Not Accredited

On LinkedIn Learning, whenever you complete a course you receive a certificate. However, these certificates are not accredited which means they are not as useful to you as certificates from a LinkedIn partner, university, etc.

This may put a lot of people off from taking the time to achieve them, and then they end up canceling their subscriptions. (Check out ‘Do LinkedIn Learning Certificates Expire?‘)

Reasons For Cancelation: The Pricing Model

The pricing model for LinkedIn Learning works to cover all of the courses, meaning the more courses you take, the better deal you are getting. However, if you only want to take one or two courses, then people argue that you are paying a lot more than you are getting.

So, many people who only want to take one course may sign up for LinkedIn Learning, take the course, and then cancel their subscription once the course is complete.

Reasons For Cancelation: Course Difficulties

Some people may find the course they are doing too difficult to continue. Others may have started a course they thought they were interested in but quickly came to realize that it was not where their interests actually lay.

If this happens, then their LinkedIn Learning subscription is no longer serving them and cancelation is inevitable.

Reasons For Cancelation: End Of Free Trial

Some people may test out LinkedIn learning and realize that it is not going to work out for them or it was not what they were expecting. So, instead of paying for it after their free trial, they cancel it instead.

Why Can’t You Cancel Your LinkedIn Learning Subscription?

Some people may experience issues when it comes to canceling their LinkedIn Learning subscriptions. This happens most often when people are trying to cancel on a LinkedIn app that they downloaded through Google Play.

This is because LinkedIn’s billing functionality is unavailable through the LinkedIn app. LinkedIn currently has no plans to change this presently.

So, if you are trying to cancel your LinkedIn Learning subscription but can’t, then it is best to access LinkedIn on a web browser, such as Google Chrome, and cancel there. You should be able to cancel your LinkedIn Learning subscription on your web browser without issues.

Important Information Regarding Your LinkedIn Learning Subscription

Here is some information we think you should know regarding your LinkedIn Learning subscription.

  • If you cancel your Linkedin Learning subscription while you are still in your free trial period, then you will lose the trial. So, it is best to finish the full trial period and then cancel the subscription at the end. This way, you can test out LinkedIn Learning and explore all it has to offer before making the decision to cancel. You never know, you may find something suitable for you!

  • After this, find the “Reactivate” button and click it.
  • Now, after you have completed the step above you will need to choose between monthly or annual learning subscriptions.
  • Once you have done this, it is best to review the details of your subscription to make sure it is what you want. Here, it is also a good idea to review your chosen payment method.
  • Once you have reviewed the details of your subscription, go ahead and click “Place order.”

Congratulations, you have just reactivated your LinkedIn Learning subscription and will be able to take the various LinkedIn Learning courses once more.

What Is LinkedIn Premium?

LinkedIn Premium is the name of LinkedIn’s paid subscription service. There are four different LinkedIn Premium subscriptions that you can choose from. They are:

  • Job Seeker (LinkedIn helps you apply for jobs.)
  • Sales Navigator (LinkedIn helps you to find customers for your services.)
  • Recruiter Lite (LinkedIn helps you to hire others.)
  • Business Plus (LinkedIn helps you to grow your network and find professional opportunities.)

No matter what subscription plan you choose, you will have access to the following features:

  • LinkedIn Learning – a library of courses to help you improve your skillset
  • Profile Viewers – which allows you to see the other profiles that have clicked on your profile. You can also choose to browse in invisible mode, meaning others will not see that you have clicked on their profile.
  • InMail Credits – This feature permits you to message anyone even if you are not connected with them on LinkedIn. This is not an unlimited feature, you will receive a certain amount of credits every month.

The price of your LinkedIn Premium subscription will change depending on the plan you choose. Here are the different plans and their price points:

LinkedIn Premium offers a whole host of benefits and features, no matter what plan you’re on. If you are looking for a job, own a business, or work as a recruiter, then LinkedIn Premium can be extremely useful for you to meet potential candidates, employers, and clients.

What’s more, if you’re looking to develop and hone your skill set, then LinkedIn Premium is worth it because it offers features such as LinkedIn Learning.

However, if you are not currently seeking any of the above, then you will not be regularly making use of what LinkedIn Premium has to offer, and it may not be worth the price point.

Final Thoughts

People will want to cancel their LinkedIn Learning subscription for various reasons, and the steps needed to do this successfully are very easy to follow.

When you cancel your LinkedIn Learning subscription, then you will still be able to access its courses until the billing period is over. However, you will not be able to do this if you are currently in your free trial period.

So, it is worth finishing the free trial before you cancel your subscription.

It is also good to note that the only way to cancel your LinkedIn Learning subscription is to cancel your LinkedIn Premium account. LinkedIn Learning is a feature of every premium plan.

So, while LinkedIn Learning may not be working out for you, the other features may be helpful, so you may want to rethink canceling just yet!
