Bush’s Final State of the Union Address
Filed under: Education by Steve Perez @ 4:41 pm
Bush delivered his final State of the Union address last night. Included in the speech was a push for No Child Left Behind and a plan to use tax dollars to send children to private or religious schools. What did you think?
UFT President Randi Weingarten was quoted in the New York Times coverage, and her full response is online. The Drum Major Institute and the AFL-CIO have more. Go read it.

I think we are getting a new president soon. I am more interested in what they say than what Bush says at this time.
And what I am hearing fom all of them, is the same sad story.
Maybe we need an independent party now.

Hillary Clinton speaks out of both sides of her mouth.
I called the number on Hillary’s website and asked. “Hillary says she is for the middle class. How much can a family earn according to her and still be considered middle class?”
They said up to $50,000.
How many UFTers know this?
